By BlueWater It has been a while since I have posted here. Bluewater just threw a pretty big convention in the Pacific Northwest called BELL CON. There was over 1,500 people that came out to the show. We have gotten a lot of great responce to it. You can see more about it at: http://www.myspace.com/bellcon2007
Other than that we are gearing up for the 2008 titles. We have a lot of cool things going on with Ray Harryhausen and the tradional titles. We are also starting up an all ages line as well as a SCI FI line too! So I will have more on those soon.
We have also signed up with WOWIO. So if you want to see the back issues we have done you can download them for FREE. Go to Wowio.com. Ray Harryhausen Presents: Wrath of the Titans 1 and 2, 10th Muse Giant, Ray Harryhausen Presents: 20 Million More, Legend of Isis and a lot more!!! There is a limit of 3 a day you can do - but they are FREE!!!
Thanks to everyone for thier support so far.

By BlueWater There has been a lot of talk going on about the small press at comic con. I am one of those people who opted not to have a booth this year. Comic con has gotten to Entertainment driven - which is fine and does help out comics. The more tradional shows like Heroes Con are going to thrive because of this. This is where I would spend my money on a booth. People get lost at SDCC. The good news is that I did get to do more business without being tied to a booth. I was also watching the coverage that G4 was having - that mainly talked about the movies like Iron Man. This is the same reason I have the problem with Wizard changing directions and focusing more on movies and tv. I undertsand that it is a business and that websites are the place where people are getting more of thier comic news. So I am happy for Wizard in changing directions as well as SDCC. It is not a good thing for publishers like me, but at least someone in comics is thriving!
And now for the press release to promote what we are doing :)

Bluewater's Week in the Community
Blog, posted July 18, 2007
By BlueWater Cosmic Comics in Bellingham is hosting a Comic Camp for kids this week. I am running the show and it is the 2nd time I am doing it. I had an artist named Ben Hansen come in today and talk to the kids about drawing. Since I can't draw - I wanted to make this camp about creating comics rather than having them be great artists. I remember in Junior high school I was discouraged by Andy Chang who always could draw so much better than me. It really made me want to give up working in comics. So I think it is important to teach kids that they do not need to know how to draw to know how to create comics. They also learn about inking, writing and the basic business of comics. At the end of the week they will have created a 8 page comic that will be sold in various local comic and book stores. The kids will pick a non-profit of their choice to donate the proceeds too. Kinko's donates the copying of the comic. I think it is important for the kids to learn about the community they come from and give back.
