Broken Frontier has unveiled the nominees for its tenth annual Broken Frontier Awards. Voting is now open and closes on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at midnight PT.
The BF staff has selected five nominees for each of the following 11 award categories: Best Writer – Mainstream, Best Writer – Independent, Best Artist – Mainstream, Best Artist – Independent, Breakout Talent, Best Ongoing Series, Best Limited Series, Best News Series, Best Original Graphic Novel, Best Book on Comics and Best Publisher.
With the ballot now live, it’s up to you to help determine the award winners. Voting is completely anonymous and is open to fans, creators and industry professionals until Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at midnight PT. The total amount of votes from the comics community will account for 50% of the final tally, while the votes of the BF staff will account for the other 50%. The winners will be announced on Monday, December 30, 2013.

Frederik: I would love to vote, although, you didn’t pick the best that 2013 had to offer in most of the categories noted above! You seem very biased and short sighted in your picks.
Thanks for your comment, Justin and I respect your decision not to vote. There’s so much worthy material out there, and in some cases 5 picks was not enough to do a category justice. Look at all the great graphic novels that didn’t make the cut for example: Ed Piskor’s Hip Hop Family Tree, Paul Pope’s Battling Boy, Carla Speed McNeil & Sara Ryan’s Bad Houses, etc. Rest assured, we put a lot of thought in this each year — we, because the nominations are not mine alone, but of the entire staff.
