Carnival Comics ain't clowning around when it comes to racking up the download numbers and reaching around the globe to 144 Countries with their titles. On the Nokia smartphone, the Atomic Dreams app has gone over 25,000 downloads in just two weeks. If that were not enough, Carnival Of Souls which has been downloaded over 26,000 times, is the #1 eBook on Blackberry's App World and 6 of the top 10 eBooks are Carnival Comics titles! (Find us in the Reference and ebook category.)
Sharon L. Barnes comments, "Having been a part of this industry for several years now, we have strived to stay on top of this technology and reach the largest number of people possible. In other words we like a packed house when we take center stage. When publishing books as an independent company, if you reach 5 to 10,000 people, it's considered a major success. With just two digital app chapters, we have reached over 50,000 people in 144 countries. And we're reaching thousands more everyday. If all of our apps were totaled, the numbers would be astounding."
Jazan Wild, writer of both app titles comments, "I will always love the printed word and I can't wait to see these titles collected into Graphic Novels. But while some in this industry are reluctant to acknowledge the potential for this amazing new technology, and even us as a company for that matter, the fact is that no matter what format a good story is told in, it's a good story. I could not be more thrilled to think my books have reached across so many borders. While it's fantastic to do a book signing at Golden Apple on Melrose and see the books on the shelves, it's just as mind boggling to me to think somebody in Russia, China or Africa is reading a story I wrote on a smartphone. We would have never been able to achieve this in the written book alone. So again, while others are reluctant or refuse to acknowledge these numbers and amazing achievements, get used to it. The show will go on. We're not going anywhere."
If you haven't checked out the apps yet, what are you waiting for? There are several free chapters to try on iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia. See what all of the buzz is about and become a fan of the Carnival!
