Just a reminder that we are more than happy to run press about small press and DIY Culture events. Details on this year’s East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest below.
13th Annual East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest (EBABZ)
Back for its 13th year, the East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest (EBABZ) invites you to immerse yourself in our annual festival celebrating the East Bay’s vibrant and varied DIY publishing community! EBABZ will feature over 50 vendors selling zines, comics, books, and other goods from local artists and zinesters as well as live screenprinting.
This year’s festival will be Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 12:00–5:00pm in the Sports Basement Community Room in Berkeley (2727 Milvia Street). Concurrent with our first in-person fest since 2019, EBABZ will host online tables on our website throughout the weekend of the fest. EBABZ programming also includes a free Zine Making and Poetry Collage workshop on Thursday, December 8, at 4:00pm in the Third Floor Community Meeting Room of the Berkeley Central Library (2090 Kittredge Street).
The East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest is an entirely volunteer-run and not-for-profit event dedicated to supporting, promoting, and educating the wider Bay Area community about zines and self-publishing, with a focus on East Bay creators. EBABZ is put on in conjunction with Rock Paper Scissors Collective, a member-directed, all volunteer-run nonprofit organization based in Oakland that fosters creativity and collaboration in order to strengthen local communities, encourage sustainable creative practices, and explore alternative models.
