The first issue of Nick Prolix’s Slang Pictorial comic – debuting at Nottingham Comic Convention on Saturday October 29th – acts primarily as a venue for the opening chapter of his retro crime drama webcomic The Sheep and the Wolves. Set in a grim 1960s London of loan sharks and shady dealings, the strip mixes gangland villainy and student politics in the fictional North London locale of Three Kings, taking its inspiration from an obscure Pan Paperback novel.
