He’s back! His debut with Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite and the Umbrella Academy: Dallas follow-up proved that he’s one of the most luminary and positively twisted young minds to write a comic in the 21st century. His name is Gerard Way and he used to be the front man of a band called My Chemical Romance.
Pretty sure that rings a bell.
This week, Way brings The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys to Dark Horse, a book that’s sure to provide that much-needed dose of escapism you’re so longing for. We selected it as our Comic of the Week saying it’s comic book magic waiting to happen (read our Staff Picks for June 12 for more).
The release of Killjoys is a perfect time to relive – or to see for the first time if that aforementioned bell hasn’t rung – the super duper video clip of My Chemical Romance’s Na Na Na that the comic spins off of. Also starring Grant Morrison, who baldly went where no famous comics scribe had gone before.
Be amazed! Be thrilled! Be excited! You can tell we are.
