It’s no secret that online promotion of artists and their practice has taken on a whole new added level of importance since March. Today on Twitter Shazleen Khan (creator of webcomic Buuza!! reviewed most recently here at Broken Frontier and also a 2019 Broken Frontier Award winner) announced #ArtMubarak on August 10th. The hashtag-led event aims to celebrate art from the Muslim community and uplift the voices of Muslim artists from around the world from any background.
Any kind of art is welcome including drawing, animation, writing, poetry, photography, film and music. It’s an initiative put together by Shazleen and a number of collaborators and you can find out more about #ArtMubarak in this Twitter thread here. We’ll be following the hashtag next Monday, looking to discover artists and work previously unknown to us and ready to retweet!
