Just before Christmas we took a look at Tripwire Magazine’s Sherlock Holmes project in our interview with writer Joel Meadows here. Barely two months later and there’s a new book from the same direction currently crowdfunding. Face to Face: Creative Portraits is a collection of photographic portraits of comics greats. More info in the press release below.
After the huge success of Sherlock Holmes and the Empire Builders The Gene Genie Vol.1 graphic novel on Zoop, more than doubling its target, Tripwire editor-in-chief Joel Meadows isn’t resting on his laurels. Launched 13 February 2024, Face To Face Creative Portraits is a unique A4 hardcover featuring a selection of Meadows’ unique portrait photos of movers and shakers in the worlds of comics, genre and film.
“I’ve always wanted to create a book like this and now seems to be the perfect time to do it,” Meadows said proudly. “I have spent over thirty years interviewing people like Alan Moore, Michael Moorcock, Dave Gibbons and more and so this gives the book a great range of subjects from the worlds of comics and genre.”
The campaign offers a regular lavish hardcover, a hardcover with postcards and A4 prints, a digital edition and a very limited edition in a customised box with signed photo prints by Moorcock, Liam Sharp and Simon Davis.
Meadows’ work already has fans in the comics industry:
