One of the hottest new comics to hit this stand this past week was Spider-Gwen #1, the launch of the new series featuring Gwen Stacy taking on the role of Spider-Woman.
It was so highly anticipated mostly because of the fresh new take on the character and the creative team, as well as the very stylish and original costume design by artist Robbi Rodriguez. It’s no wonder, than, that Robbi’s hometown of Portland, OR rolled out the red carpet for him on the day that his new comic dropped.
First came the family-friendly signing at the comic shop, Things From Another World, where Robbi signed comics and prints for fans of all ages. After that, the nearby Club 21 thought it was only right that they hold an “after hours” party (no kids allowed!) for Robbi, since he drew most of the issue on his tablet at the back of the bar.
You can read more about Robbi’s career and favorite haunts in my recent interview with him here. And here’s a photo tour from Robbi’s two Spider-Gwen #1 signings.
