SelfMadeHero, UK’s award-winning independent publisher, is attending this year’s 30th Edinburgh International Book Festival with a number of its top British creators taking part in the newly created graphic novel section, Stripped on 25th and 26th August 2013.
Glyn Dillon author and illustrator on the highly acclaimed Nao of Brown will be sharing the stage with Dockwood author John McNaught as they reveal the inspiration behind their highly original stories and distinctive styles for Meditations, Musings and Morbidity, Monday 26 Aug, 7.00pm, Peppers Theatre.
Rob Davis (Don Quixote) and Martin Rowson (The Life and Times of Tristram Shandy) prove that you can’t keep a classic hero down as they explain how they adapted two classic novels into graphic novels at New Life For Old Classics Monday 26 Aug, 3.30pm at Baillie Gifford Corner Theatre.
In the education section, Emma Vieceli who illustrated Manga Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is holding a workshop for children aged 12 -15 to help develop drawing skills. Here’s a chance to be Getting Graphic With Emma Vieceli , Sunday 25 Aug, 4.30pm, Baillie Gifford Imagination Lab.
Managing Director Emma Hayley who set up the company in 2007 and has won Young Publisher of the Year Award, will also be in attendance.
