It’s becoming rarer and rarer to see publishers opening up submissions from artists so great news today that 2022 Broken Frontier Best Publisher Award winners Silver Sprocket are doing just that for a month in August. More details in the press release below.
Indie Comics Publisher Silver Sprocket Announces Open Submissions for Mini-Comics
Radical indie comics publisher Silver Sprocket is excited to announce twice-yearly open submissions of original mini-comics for publication. The first period of open submissions will start on August 1st, 2023, and end at 11:59 PM pst on August 31st, 2023. After that, submissions will be closed until Spring 2024.
This is the first time ever that Silver Sprocket will be accepting unsolicited submissions for publication.
Aside from paperback and hard-cover graphic novels with spines, Silver Sprocket has published a plethora of high-quality stand-alone staple-bound mini-comics since 2016, including the Ignatz Award winning one-shots Your Black Friend by Ben Passmore and PeePee PooPoo #69 by Caroline Cash, the Doug Wright Award winning Magical Beatdown series by Jenn Woodall, and Eisner nominated No Better Words by Casey Nowak.
Silver Sprocket will accept submissions for both completed and in-development mini-comics so long as the comics fall within 24 and 48 pages, are self-contained, are not prose or art books, and align with Silver Sprocket as a publisher. There will be an online portal (found via our website) where folks will be able to submit their mini comics and additional information for consideration during the submission window. Only one submission from an individual may be submitted.
Please note that if you are submitting any comics that have been made with AI, you will be automatically rejected.

We look forward to reading your work!
