Award-winning US author James Tynion IV will bring new production house Tiny Onion to Thought Bubble
Thought Bubble, the award-winning Yorkshire comic convention and festival have announced another group of big name guests to appear at this year’s convention alongside a list of the five hundred and eighty exhibitors & creators carefully curated by the Thought Bubble team. Loved by creators and fans alike, Thought Bubble will take over the massive Harrogate Convention Centre this November for their seventeenth convention.
New special guests for Thought Bubble 2024 include the Eisner Award-winning, New York Times bestselling writer and publisher James Tynion IV (Something is Killing the Children, Wynd, DC’s Batman, Tiny Onion Productions); Bradford-born comic book author and winner of the Eisner 2023 Russ Manning Award, Zoe Thorogood (It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth, The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott, Life Is Strange); multi-award-winning, London-based writer and co-creator Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + The Divine, The Power Fantasy, DIE) and Spanish comic book artist and prolific collaborator Álvaro Martínez Bueno who co-created the best-selling series The Nice House on the Lake (with fellow guest James Tynion IV) and, working exclusively with DC Comics, has contributed to series such as Detective Comics, Justice League Dark and many, many more.
Also announced are Alex Norris, creator of the smash hit three-panel webcomic series Webcomic Name, Yorkshire-born, horror-inspired artist and writer Alison Sampson (Department of Truth, Jessica Jones, Hellboy); poet, editor and comic book writer Chrissy Williams (Golden Rage, Image Comics, Over the Line: An Intro to Poetry Comics), Spanish artist and co-creator of the acclaimed series WORLDTR33 alongside James Tynion IV, Fernando Blanco; Eisner-nominated comic artist and co-creator Martin Simmonds (The Department of Truth, Dying is Easy, Punks Not Dead), Co-Founder and Creative Director of Vice Press, Matt Ferguson whose stylised creations include artwork for Guardians Of The Galaxy and Star Wars promotional posters; Eisner-nominated, Athens-based artist Micheal Dialynas (Zawa + The Belly of the Beast, Wynd, IDW’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and in-demand Italian artist Werther Dell’Edera (Something is Killing The Children with James Tynion IV, IDW, Dark Horse, Marvel).

Thought Bubble are also incredibly excited to share 2024’s exhibitors, which lists nearly six-hundred exhibitors attending this year’s convention. After working through a record number of applications, the team at Thought Bubble have handpicked 580 artists, writers, small-press publishers, & other creators; spanning a vast array of genres, disciplines & styles in order to bring their work to the thousands of fans at Thought Bubble in a huge celebration of comics and the people who make them.
Thought Bubble attendees will be able to collect their tickets early thanks to box office desks set up in independent venues around Harrogate on the Friday evening. This early collection will cut down queuing time on the first day of the convention as well as encourage Thought Bubble fans to explore and support more of Harrogate’s independent businesses.
Tickets for Thought Bubble Comic Convention are on sale now, with newly introduced ticket options for families and students, while under 12s, carers and over 65s tickets remain totally free. Tickets give access to all events within the comic convention weekend; panels, workshops, guest signings, as well as the three huge halls of over 500 exhibitors, publishers and much more still to be announced.
