With so many members of the Broken Frontier crew also established comics creators in their own right it seems only fitting that we initiated a semi-regular strand of blog posts spotlighting our talented team’s comics practice outside the site. ‘Outside the Frontier’ will be that blanket title in the months to come!
Long-term staffer Tyler Chin-Tanner is also the co-publisher of US indie outfit A Wave Blue World founded with Wendy Chin-Tanner in 2005. They were the publisher behind our own Broken Frontier Anthology a couple of years back and have released well-received books like Loved & Lost and This Nightmare Kills Fascists.
This week sees the Kickstarter campaign for their latest anthology All We Ever Wanted: Stories of a Better World go live with an esteemed list of creative talent involved. You can read the full press release below as well as enjoy some sample pages from the book. Don’t forget to consider backing it here!

A Wave Blue World announces the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for its latest anthology, ALL WE EVER WANTED: Stories of a Better World. This full color collection features a cover by Ariela Kristantina (Insexts, Mata Hari) and contains over 25 stories meant to inspire us and restore the belief that a brighter future is possible.
The anthology is edited by Matt Miner (Gwar, Poser) and Erik Palicki (No Angel, Orphans), who, alongside A Wave Blue World, have spearheaded a combined 12 successful kickstarter campaigns, delivering four previous anthologies. Together they’ve gathered an impressive list on contributors, ranging from experienced veterans to some of the most ambitious new voices working in comics. All of them are eager to share their hopeful visions of the future.

Publisher Tyler Chin-Tanner explains, “Popular fiction moves in cycles. Recently, it’s mostly been stories of dystopian futures, which serve as a warning of what might come. But now I think we’re past the point of warnings. People are starting to get depressed. We need to show them a light at the end of the tunnel. That’s our motivation for creating this anthology.”
