And we’re happy to mention yet another new comic and zine fair for 2024. Stapled is organised by Nick Gonzo and will be taking place on the August Bank Holiday this year with a unique two-day approach that effectively gives us two events rolled into one. Full details in the press release below.
Stapled: A Celebration of Independent Print
Over two days, Zineophilia is taking over Left Bank Leeds to bring you Stapled, a celebration of the world of independent print. We are aiming to make a home for the unique, creative voices that might get overlooked in the current creative landscape. Whether this is in the world of comics or zines, our ethos remains the same; a place for everyone, no matter how distinct, niche, or downright weird the things you make might be.
The event will be held on Sunday the 25th and Monday the 26th of August across the bank holiday weekend. Both days run from 11am until 5pm, at the historic Left Bank Leeds. We will be packing the converted church with creatives from Yorkshire and beyond.
Tickets are free, and we have some ticket packages with T-Shirts and Tote Bags to help support the event. Keep an eye on our social media for more.
On our first day we will be hosting a comic convention focused on spotlighting the best people working in the scene right now. On the second we will be hosting a zine and print fair, moving away from the more traditional elements of the sequential narrative. Our aim is to represent every corner of the small press community and not be limited by genre, topic, or style.
If you want to apply for a table we have application forms for both days here (Comic Creators here and Zine and Print Makers here). In order to make it as accessible as possible full tables start from £20.
We want you to know that no matter what you make we will consider you. Our only requirement is that the focus of your table is either comics or zines. It’s a party and God damn it you’re invited.
